MY WORK

Take a look at some of the UX and UI Design processes I am skilled in.

USER INTERFACE DESIGN

Bringing Ideas to Life

Using Figma as my preferred design platform, I create desktop and mobile screen designs based on user research and business needs. UI designs are a critical part of product development and delivery and are used for prototyping and testing and can be iterated on several times before being development ready.

SITE MAPS

Information architecture

Have you ever used a website or application where links didn't take you where they should or you could only get to a page by going through 3 others. I design site maps to avoid this negative user  experience. Site maps helps us understand how pages are related and identify the logical path to take.

USER FLOWS

The expected interaction

User flows are created to understand the user actions at each step of a specific interaction. The descriptions in each step should reflect the user and business needs as these can help inform the user interface.
The visuals used in these are wireframes and to provide an idea of potential layout at each action taken.

USER JOURNEY

Digital touch points

User journey flows are used to understand the potential paths a user make take when they are interacting with a product. I have used them to map out the current state during the problem phases and also to map out the new user flows when designing the solution as this can help identify dead ends, or interactions that need to be improved.

SERVICE BLUEPRINTS

Empathise with the user

I use service blueprints to help understand the users journey and the emotions they feel at each stage. It also provides a view of what is happening behind the scenes at each stage of the journey. Blueprints help me understand the link between the user experience and business processes.

WIREFRAMES

Low-fi UI design

Wireframes are a great way to quickly ideate on new designs without having to spend time thinking about color schemes and fonts. Wireframes are used during ideation phases to give an idea about layout, positioning of components and navigation.

PROTOTYPES

Interactive Designs

Creating clickable prototypes from UI designs in FIgma helps to understand how interactions will take place before the development of the product has started. I create interactive prototypes in Figma and use these to get feedback during user testing and playback sessions with the project team and stakeholders.

ACCESSIBILITY

More then just usability

Accessibility is critical part of design and having recently completed a Web Accessibility Certificate, I ensure that accessibility is being considered at every stage of the design and development life cycle by doing keyboard testing and screen reader testing on UI designs, as well as inclusive usability testing.
